ISSUES ON HOW TO PROTECT THE ENVIROMENT

The following are the things one is expected to do so that he does not affect the enviroment.

a) Waste

Waste should be disposed of well to prevent it from affecting the health of individuals. There are quite a number of ideas of how to protect the environment by disposing of the waste properly. Some of the ways of disposing the waste are:
  • recycling the paper to help save the trees. By recycling the papers, the number of tree to be cut down will be reduced because the papers are recycled.
  • taking charity clothes to the shops or to textile industries for recycling
  • try to a void plastics and one way of avoiding them is by refusing to use carrier bags
b) Rainforests

Rain forests are a valuable habitat. Many species of animals live in the rain forests and cutting the rain forests will affect the habitat of these animals. Also, rain forests are a means of attracting rain and hence ensures that our environment is green and conducive for human survival. Plant more tree to conserve the enviroment.

c) Pollution

The air, water and soil habitats all over the world have been polluted and therefore these habitats are not conducive for human and animal survival. Pollution can be prevented by the following ways:
  • use of alternative sources of energy instead of using fossil fuel
  • avoiding damping fossil fuel products into water bodies as this will endanger the life of marine animals
  • use bicycles in short distances instead of using cars which emit exhaust fumes which affect the environment
d) Ozone layer
Stratosphere lies just fifteen miles above the earth and at this layer is a broad band of gases and one of this gases is ozone. Ozone protects life by filtering dangerous ultraviolet ray from reaching the earth. This layer ensures that we do not get skin diseases like cancer by removing this dangerous rays.The use of certain chemicals affect this important layer and therefore it is advisable not to do the following;
  • do not use aerosols containing CFC's as these chemicals destroy the ozone layer
  • draining the CFC's from old fridges and recycling them before disposing of the fridge box
e) Car exhaust fumes

Car exhaust fumes contain carbon dioxide. A lot of emission of this gas contributes greatly to green house effect in that the carbon dioxide layer allows light to pass through it but it does not allow the heat to escape hence trapping it. This makes the environment to be warm.The following help to cut down car fumes;
  • reducing the number of journeys by using cars
  • using alternative energy sources like cell fuels in refilling cars
