HOW TO SET UP FRONT PAGE

When designing a web site , there are some of the things that you need to do before starting the design process. The procedures may differ but the end product is the same. When setting up frontpage2003 the following are the steps that one needs to follow to successfully come up with a web page :

  1. Create a folder. This folder can be created on the desktop by right clicking and choosing new folder. Rename the folder or give the folder the name that you like. Everything you create pertaining web development should be save in this folder. Changing any of the items saved in this folder will make your website not to work.
  2. Opening the frontpage. Using the start button go to all programs, microsoft frontpage and click on it. This will open the frontpage application program. To create a web page, click on the new page icon and a new page will be displayed with the word "new-page1.htm".
  3. Renaming the new page you created. In this step you will rename the new page and give it a different name like index.htm and save it in the folder that you created. The page is saved from file and then save as.
  4. Choosing the background of your page. To choose your background colour on the file that you saved and right click in and go to page properties to set up your background colour. After setting up your background colour, save the changes that you made to the file.
  5. Choosing table size. Choose insert table from the' insert table' menu bar and insert the number of cells you want to appear in your table. To change table properties, you can right click on the table and modify any changes as you wish.
  6. modifying individual cells. To modify a cell, right click on it and choose cell properties from the dropdown menu. You can also merge cells by highlighting and then right clicking to choose merge cells. Also you can split a cell by right clicking on the cell to bring up the drop down menu.
  7. modifying fonts. You can also modify the font colour, size and type by highlighting the text that you want to modify.
  8. inserting and modifying graphics. Right click on the image that you want to insert into your document and save that picture in the folder that you created. After this click on the location where you want to insert your picture and then insert your picture from the insert menu.
  9. Creating hyperlinks. There are three types of hyperlinks: links to outside websites, links to other pages on your website and links to places within the same document.

To link an outside website

  • highlight the text or graphic that you want to link to the outside website
  • click on the hyperlink icon on the toolbar to open the' insert hyperlink'
  • select the target frame button, select new window and the click ok
  • in the insert hyperlink window make sure 'existing file or web page' is selected
  • type in the url of the outside website in the address window and click ok and the word will be linked.

To other web pages on your document

  • go to file new and select blank page from the menu that will appear.
  • use the steps outlined in step 3 to name and save the page
  • highlight the text you want to link to the page
  • click on the hyperlink icon on the toolsbar
  • make sure you choose the 'existing file or web page' icon on the hyperlink
  • navigate to your folder and choose the proper .htm page then the word is linked.

Linking to a place within the same document

TECHNOLOGY TEMPLATES

In web designing ,templates play an important role as in it saves and individual time to create a template or templates to use in developing his website. These templates are ready made and can be downloaded and used for developing webs. Some of this templates are free whereas some are sold. The goodness with these templates is that they are designed such that you can choose from a list of them and use the one that pleases you.

The one disadvantage of these templates is that they are not designed to specifically meet the taste that you need and hence the need for one to create his or her own template to use in web designing as this will satisfy the need and desire of what he or she expected.

Technology templates work well for professional and individuals who do not have much time to set up and design their own templates for web pages. For them, they can use this templates to accomplish their tasks in time without wasting much time. By so doing, it helps them to beat project deadlines and deliver the product to their customers in time. Therefore technology templates are helping professionals and individuals who do not have much time to work on their slides.

CREATING WEBSITE FROM OUTSIDE SERVER

There are some things which need to be done when you are planning for web design and development.Planning and designing requires that you know the goals and the design that you want. If you are building a website for the first time then you need to have the following things in place before you start:

  1. The web domain name. This is the address where people who could like to visit your site will use to access your web site. You can have one either by purchasing, or by being hosted. The first choice , purching is the better option because you will not have pop up messages on your site unlike the hosted type where there are pop ups.
  2. Web host. A web site cannot exist without a web host. This is the company that houses your files and provides an environment for you to create and save pages to the internet.
  3. Web building software. This is the software that will enable you to build your website. There are a variety of these software. The most common software are Microsoft frontpage coffeeCup and dreamweaver. If you do not have any software to use, then you can use HTML codes to set up your website. The process of using HTML codes is tedious and it requires that you have a knowledge of the codes and use note pad to write your codes. After creating your site, then you need to save it with the extension htm or html.

After having the a bove requirements, then it is time for you to come up with a plan on how to set up your web page. This includes the objective of your web pages, the contents of the pages, the and the design that you may want to use. Therefore having a knowledge of developing web sites using codes is handy and helps you to develop the website any time without any limitations.

TRAFFIC MANAGEMENT SOFTWARE

In a big computer networks, the centralized management management of a network is required to monitoring , planning, allocating , security, deploying, coordinating and configuring the computer networks. Network management means managing the administration and security, risk, reliability and performance network over a very large scale.

Being a network administrator, you are required to ensure that the security of your computer that is of your network is protected from unauthorized users and from hackers. For this purpose you need to restrict the user rights, implement the security policies, use firewalls and monitor the network and the performance with different tools. Some high end software produces real time graphical monitoring of the network activity.

There are certain network management systems and software being used to optimize resource allocation, report capabilities, real time fault detection and reduces network congestion. This software provides comprehensive management features such as monitoring, analyzing ,fault detection and security.

Certain software are used to monitor the bandwidth usage and the tracked information is stored in the database for analysis and monitoring. Through your database bandwidth usage information, you can analyze the bandwidth requirement of your network and plan for the increase of your bandwidth.

Some traffic management requires the use of hardware and software to manage traffic. For instance, the traffic engineering server is used to manage the network traffic. Apart from the hardware, software is used to controll and manage traffic in network. Some of the software used are:

  1. softperfect network protocol analyzer. This software is used for debugging, maintaining and monitoring local area networks and the internet. It captures the data passing through your dial up or thruough your Ethernet network cad analyzes the data and presents it in a readable form.
  2. softperfect bandwidth manager. This software management tool for windows offers a cost effective bandwidth control and quality of service based on built in prioritized rules.
  3. softperfect print inspector. This is a print management and auditing solution for local area networks. It helps you manage your print job queued to any shared printer and provides easy access to the printer and printer server settings.
  4. softperfect traffic meter. This traffic meter monitors your network traffic. With this software you can create the fullfeatured system for monitoring the internet traffic for specific users on your home or office network. It can built a graphic reports on the incoming and outgoing traffic per day, week or month.

HTML CODES

HTML codes are codes used when developing a web site. These codes enable one to set up the web pages the way he or she wants them to look. These codes are so many but in this, I am going to talk of the very basic HTML codes. These codes are:

  1. The . This code is enclosed in angle brackets as and they are used to indicate that this is an HTML document. All HTMl codes are paired except a few. All HTML documents should start and end with this HTML code otherwise the document will not execute.
  2. The tag. This tag is used to indicate the header section of the HTML document which includes the and the <meta> tags which are not shown on the main window of the browser.</li><li>The <TITLE>. This tag is used to indicate the title of the of the HTML document. Usually this title is displayed at the top left or middle of the browser.</li><li>The <META> tag. The <meta> tag information is not directly shown on your browser rather it is used by the author of the HTML document to record information related to this page. Two common attributes of this are name and content.</li><li>The <BODY> tag. The body tag includes the HTML body of the document. Every thing within the <body> tag, except those within the script tag, are displayed on the browser inside the browser window.The < body> tag may include several attributes including <span style="font-weight: bold;">bgcolor </span>which is the background colour of the HTML document, <span style="font-weight: bold;">alink</span> which is the colour of the links, <span style="font-weight: bold;">vlinks</span> the colour of visited links, <span style="font-weight: bold;">topmargin</span> the margin from the top of the browser window and <span style="font-weight: bold;">leftmargin</span> the margin from the left of the browser window.</li><li>The <FONT> tag. Used to change the format of the text on the web page and the most common attributes include,<span style="font-weight: bold;"> face</span> the type of font , <span style="font-weight: bold;">size</span> this indicates the size of the text and <span style="font-weight: bold;">colour</span> this indicates the colour of the text.</li><li>The < b> tag. The tag will bold the text inside the tag.</li><li>The <i> tag. The tag will italicize the text inside the tag.</li><li>The < u> tag. The tag will underline the text inside the tag.</li><li>The header tags <h1> <h6>. These tags allow us to place additional importance to on the text within these tags.</li><li>The < center> tag. This tag centers all the text that is within this tags.</li><li>The <br> tag. This tag indicates a line break.</li><li>The < p> tag. The tag indicates a new paragraph. It is the same as <br> <br> tag.</li><li>The <ol> tag. This tag specifies that the following list is ordered.</li><li>The <ul> tag. The <ul> specifies that the following list is not ordered.</li><li>The <li> tag. This lists the items whether ordere or unordered.</li></ol><br style="font-weight: bold;"><span style="font-weight: bold;">REFERENCE</span><br /><br />http://html-codes.1keydata.com/html-basic-tags.php<br /> <div style='clear: both;'></div> </div> <div class='post-footer'> <div class='post-footer-line post-footer-line-1'> <span class='post-author vcard'> Posted by <span class='fn' itemprop='author' itemscope='itemscope' itemtype='http://schema.org/Person'> <meta content='https://www.blogger.com/profile/14621121966663126249' itemprop='url'/> <a class='g-profile' href='https://www.blogger.com/profile/14621121966663126249' rel='author' title='author profile'> <span itemprop='name'>MIGOSI BONIFACE</span> </a> </span> </span> <span class='post-timestamp'> at <meta content='http://migosi.blogspot.com/2009/05/html-codes.html' itemprop='url'/> <a class='timestamp-link' href='http://migosi.blogspot.com/2009/05/html-codes.html' rel='bookmark' title='permanent link'><abbr class='published' itemprop='datePublished' title='2009-05-16T21:46:00-07:00'>21:46</abbr></a> </span> <span class='post-comment-link'> <a class='comment-link' href='http://migosi.blogspot.com/2009/05/html-codes.html#comment-form' onclick=''> No comments: </a> </span> <span class='post-icons'> <span class='item-control blog-admin pid-1175780085'> <a href='https://www.blogger.com/post-edit.g?blogID=6751914799165428963&postID=4097186741623344566&from=pencil' title='Edit Post'> <img alt='' class='icon-action' height='18' src='https://resources.blogblog.com/img/icon18_edit_allbkg.gif' width='18'/> </a> </span> </span> <div class='post-share-buttons goog-inline-block'> </div> </div> <div class='post-footer-line post-footer-line-2'> <span class='post-labels'> </span> </div> <div class='post-footer-line post-footer-line-3'> <span class='post-location'> </span> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div></div> <div class="date-outer"> <h2 class='date-header'><span>Thursday 14 May 2009</span></h2> <div class="date-posts"> <div class='post-outer'> <div class='post hentry uncustomized-post-template' itemprop='blogPost' itemscope='itemscope' itemtype='http://schema.org/BlogPosting'> <meta content='6751914799165428963' itemprop='blogId'/> <meta content='7610112158795927483' itemprop='postId'/> <a name='7610112158795927483'></a> <h3 class='post-title entry-title' itemprop='name'> <a href='http://migosi.blogspot.com/2009/05/what-are-hazards-in-communication.html'>WHAT ARE THE HAZARDS IN COMMUNICATION?</a> </h3> <div class='post-header'> <div class='post-header-line-1'></div> </div> <div class='post-body entry-content' id='post-body-7610112158795927483' itemprop='description articleBody'> Hazard communication , sometimes referred to us the right to know, is a way of passing dangerous information that a product contains to the users or employees of a certain company.This is a accomplished by employers passing information to their employees on the possible danger that is posed by the products they are using. Different standards can be used depending on the type of industry. That is if it is an industry dealing with chemical processes , the standard of evaluation are different. Despite this, there are some common standard guidelines which are used in all industries based on three categories. These categories are:<br /><br /><ul><li>Chemical. This includes dusts, fumes,mists and vapours</li><li>Physical . This include noise, heat/cold and radiation</li><li>Ergonomic .This comprises of cumulative trauma disorders</li></ul><br />Industrial hygienists use different ways of evaluating chemical hazards like monitoring the exposure. Employees working in hazardous chemical sections may be asked to wear personal sampling pumps during their part or all of their work shift. The sampling device is put at the employees collar and sample best represent what the employee is inhaling. These samples can be used by industrial evaluators to evaluate the industry.<br /><br />Physical hazards can be evaluated by using personal sampling. Each employee working in a noise area is required to wear a noise dosimeter for all or part of their work. The noise dosimeter is clipped to the collar of the employee and it is fixed with a microphone which picks the noise levels of the industry. Evaluators use information from this device to evaluate the noise level of the industry.<br />Finally, an industrial assessor may evaluate the working space for each individual. The ergonomic assessment assesses tools, space, and work processes. Industrial assessor will watch the employee to identify improper lifting, reaching awkward body postures and repetitive motion. By so doing this will give the an idea of assessing the industrial workplace.<br /><br />Therefore the evaluation form for building or industrial workplace contains the a bove mentioned things.<br /><br />Apart from the above mentioned assessments the industrial evaluators also conduct the following evaluations on building :<br /><br /><ol><li>Site design which includes site analysis and planning,stormwater management which should be connected to the storm water treatment area,natural landscape, parking and transportation, and site lighting.</li><li>Building design and energy includes building design, energy efficiency,daylighting and interior lighting, alternative energy and building commissioning.</li><li>Materials and resources includes interior and exterior materials and water conservation.</li><li>Construction and demolition includes waste and recycling, erosion and dust control and pre-occupancy control for indoor air quality.</li><li>Indoor environmental quality includes industrial air quality and acoustic quality.</li><li>Operations and maintainance includes operations manual and maintainance, faciligy maintenance and stewardship of site and landscape elements.<br /></li></ol> <div style='clear: both;'></div> </div> <div class='post-footer'> <div class='post-footer-line post-footer-line-1'> <span class='post-author vcard'> Posted by <span class='fn' itemprop='author' itemscope='itemscope' itemtype='http://schema.org/Person'> <meta content='https://www.blogger.com/profile/14621121966663126249' itemprop='url'/> <a class='g-profile' href='https://www.blogger.com/profile/14621121966663126249' rel='author' title='author profile'> <span itemprop='name'>MIGOSI BONIFACE</span> </a> </span> </span> <span class='post-timestamp'> at <meta content='http://migosi.blogspot.com/2009/05/evaluation-form-for-building-or.html' itemprop='url'/> <a class='timestamp-link' href='http://migosi.blogspot.com/2009/05/evaluation-form-for-building-or.html' rel='bookmark' title='permanent link'><abbr class='published' itemprop='datePublished' title='2009-05-14T22:42:00-07:00'>22:42</abbr></a> </span> <span class='post-comment-link'> <a class='comment-link' href='http://migosi.blogspot.com/2009/05/evaluation-form-for-building-or.html#comment-form' onclick=''> No comments: </a> </span> <span class='post-icons'> <span class='item-control blog-admin pid-1175780085'> <a href='https://www.blogger.com/post-edit.g?blogID=6751914799165428963&postID=9034886411064144498&from=pencil' title='Edit Post'> <img alt='' class='icon-action' height='18' src='https://resources.blogblog.com/img/icon18_edit_allbkg.gif' width='18'/> </a> </span> </span> <div class='post-share-buttons goog-inline-block'> </div> </div> <div class='post-footer-line post-footer-line-2'> <span class='post-labels'> </span> </div> <div class='post-footer-line post-footer-line-3'> <span class='post-location'> </span> </div> </div> </div> </div> </div></div> </div> <div class='blog-pager' id='blog-pager'> <span id='blog-pager-older-link'> <a class='blog-pager-older-link' href='http://migosi.blogspot.com/search?updated-max=2009-05-14T22:42:00-07:00&max-results=7' id='Blog1_blog-pager-older-link' title='Older Posts'>Older Posts</a> </span> <a class='home-link' href='http://migosi.blogspot.com/'>Home</a> </div> <div class='clear'></div> <div class='blog-feeds'> <div class='feed-links'> Subscribe to: <a class='feed-link' href='http://migosi.blogspot.com/feeds/posts/default' target='_blank' type='application/atom+xml'>Posts (Atom)</a> </div> </div> </div></div> <div id='footer-wrapper'> <div class='footer no-items section' id='footer'></div> </div> </div></div> <div id='main-bot'></div> <!-- placeholder for image --> </div> <script type="text/javascript" src="https://www.blogger.com/static/v1/widgets/517362887-widgets.js"></script> <script type='text/javascript'> window['__wavt'] = 'AOuZoY7Hgn3Vo93HmDIO8M-jFiWNbonprA:1713443139678';_WidgetManager._Init('//www.blogger.com/rearrange?blogID\x3d6751914799165428963','//migosi.blogspot.com/','6751914799165428963');
